Emily VanCamp

Emily Irene VanCamp, a Canadian actress and actor, is well-known for her role as the lead on a number of TV shows as well as for her strong performances in movies. Her popularity is shared by both Canadian and American television. Emily started acting when she was 12 when she was visiting her sister Katie in one of Katie's movies. She started taking classes in acting and auditions when she realized that she had a passion for acting. She started out with a couple of ads, and was soon cast in Are You Afraid Of The Dark, a Canadian horror series for children. It was just one scene, without any dialogue. On the WB TV show Glory Days, she received her first major break at age 15. Emily's performance in Glory Days, a show on WB that was cancelled nine episodes later, caught the attention of and landed Greg Berlanti from Dawson's Creek. Emily, who is also a photographer and ballerina was recognized by Teen magazine as one the most talented actresses under the age of 20. She was ranked the 51st in the Maxim's Hot 100 list of 2014.
