Jenna Fischer has become best known as Pam Beesly, the character she portrayed on The Office. In the course of playing this role, Jenna received two SAG Awards in Outstanding Ensemble Comedy and also an Emmy Award for the Best Supporting Actress.
She was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, however, she grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. Jenna watched as her mother Anne performed in church plays. She was awed by performance and theater began at a very young girl.
After finishing The Office, Fischer, a theater-trained actress returned to her origins. She starred in the Off-Broadway play Reasons to Be Happy, written and directed by Neil LaBute and co-starring Josh Hamilton, Leslie Bibb, as well as Fred Weller. After starring in Steve Martin's new production Meteor Shower (an absurdist comedy co-written by Greg Germann and Josh Stamberg), she performed in the record-breaking Old Globe Theatre's world premiere.
Angela Kinsey from The Office (the cast mate of Fischer) and her real life best friend, Angela Kinsey from The Office, started a podcast in October, called Office Ladies. The show has since become extremely popular and has been a part of the Top Ten every single week. The first year, it received over 200 million downloads. In January 2021, Office Ladies won iHeart Radio's Podcast of the Year award.
She is the writer of The Actor's Life An Actor's Survival Guide (coauthored with Angela Kinsey), in which her tale of relocating from St. Louis to Hollywood as a professional actress is narrated. The Office BFF's : The Tales of The Office by Two Best Friends That Were There is also a memoir of Angela and herself and their friendship while working for The Office.
